For another outdoor adventure explore Theodore Roosevelt Island accessible by footbridge or canoe. The island is an 88-acre park with nearly 2-miles of trails through forest and wetlands.
Bike along the 36 mile round trip Mt. Vernon Trail. The trail winds along the Virginia side of the Potomac River between Theodore Roosevelt Island and George Washington's home at Mount Vernon, with scenic views of historic landmarks and places to stop and picnic.
