Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Fourth of July Celebration

Independence Day Celebration

Join the Independence Day celebrations in the nation's capital city! Festivities include the National Independence Day Parade along Constitution Avenue, a musical exhibition featuring the National Symphony Orchestra and celebrity performers from the West Lawn of the US Capitol Building and a spectacular fireworks display on the National Mall.  The fireworks show, administered by the National Park Service, illuminates the iconic monuments and memorials along the Mall, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.

Plein Air Competition and Arts Festival

Floydfest

Chincoteague Pony Swim

Chincoteague Island, Virginia

The town of Chincoteague is known worldwide for its annual Pony Penning & Auction. Every July, “Saltwater Cowboys” round up the wild ponies from Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Assateague Island and let them swim across the channel to Chincoteague Island. The first foal to come ashore will be named King or Queen Neptune and will be given away in a raffle drawing at the carnival grounds later in the day.  After swimming the short distance across the channel, the ponies will rest for approximately 45 minutes to an hour before “parading” to the carnival grounds on Main Street. The carnival will open at 7 PM with rides, games and lots of good food.

Virginia Craft Beer Month

Annapolis Crab Feast

Clustered Spires High Wheel Race

Maryland Renaissance Festival

The Maryland Renaissance Festival is the second largest Renaissance Festival in the country with more than 1,300 participants and 280,000 guests per season. The festival's 25 acre English village offers 140 craft and specialty shops, 42 food and beverage emporiums, games, attractions, displays, 11 stages of ever changing entertainment with shows repeated throughout the day, and a 3,000 seat jousting arena. The festival is open Saturdays and Sundays, late August through October.

Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend

Waterfowl Festival
